Eglin AFB – Jackson South Management Unit Eglin AFB covers 464,000 acres in Santa Rosa, Okaloosa and Walton counties. An Eglin permit is required to access the 250,000 acres of the Eglin reservation conditionally open to public recreation. Outdoor recreation permits, a comprehensive booklet and regulation summary are available from the Natural Resources Branch office (commonly known as Jackson Guard) located at 107 Hwy 85 N, Niceville, FL 32578, ph 850-882-4165/4166. All or portions of the Eglin reservation are subject to closure during military testing/training operations. DISCLAIMER: The Public Access Map (PAM) is intended for recreational access planning purposes and is subject to change. It is updated daily at regular intervals to reflect the current and three-day forecasted closures. Unscheduled missions may require immediate closure of otherwise Open Areas using gates, barricades, and/or range personnel to prohibit access. Entry into any permanently Closed Area is strictly prohibited regardless of indicated map status. Individuals found in violation of this guidance are subject to loss of Reservation access privileges.
