This map covers Yuba Creek Natural Area, a 413-acre preserve bordered by US-31 that was purchased by Acme Township in 2002 with help from the Grand Traverse Regional Land Conservancy. Along with 2 miles of trail, Yuba Creek features more than 5000 feet of its namesake stream, open wetlands, upland hardwood forest and a variety of wildlife including a pair of nesting bald eagles. This map, produced by MichiganTrailMaps.com, includes: --10-foot contour lines --Location of all three trailheads --Amenities icons --Mileage flags marking the main trail Along with photos, the highlighted trail is described in full on the MichiganTrailMaps.com website at www.michigantrailmaps.com/member-detail/yuba-creek-natural-area. The point-to-point trail runs almost the length of the valley while a spur branches off to climb the western ridge. A round-trip hike is only 3.4 miles but it’s enough to allow you to escape the noise and traffic of the state highway for the quiet bliss of this well-hidden valley. The trail is open to hikers as well as snowshoers and Nordic skiers in the winter but mountain bikes and off-road motorized vehicles are banned.
