DESCRIPTION This map represents the 'East Side' of the Blue Hills Trail network, located in northwestern Wisconsin. Approximately 20 miles of non-motorized trails can be used for cross country skiing, snowshoeing, mountain biking, and hiking - depending on the season. Winter is the peak season as the trail system is known to provide a high quality experience for both cross country skiing and snowshoeing. CROSS COUNTRY SKIING You can expect timely grooming that accommodates both skating and striding. The 'Core Loop' (11 km long) receives primary grooming attention and is a good route for beginners as well as experienced skiers. There are also side trails that branch off the Core Loop - have fun exploring them on your own or ask the local skiers about their favorite routes. SNOWSHOEING Three well-marked snowshoe trails start and end adjacent to the warming house. FACILITIES Warm up before/after your outing by visiting the heated warming house / log cabin. Pit toilets are located just north of the warming house. Ample parking is available at the trailhead.
