Summersville Lake Wildlife Management Area is a 6,169 acre Wildlife Management Area in Nicholas County. The property is owned by U.S. Army Corps of Engineers and managed by WV Division of Natural Resources, Wildlife Resources Section. The terrain of the area: Ranges from forested rolling hills to vertical rock cliffs. Hunting, Trapping, and Fishing: A 500-foot safety zone exists around all buildings, picnic areas, campgrounds, and playgrounds in which it is illegal to shoot a firearm. Hunting Opportunities: Deer, Turkey, Bear, Waterfowl, Squirrel, & Grouse Trapping Opportunities: N/A Fishing Opportunities: Summersville Lake. There you can fish for largemouth bass and smallmouth bass, bluegill, channel catfish and flathead catfish, crappie, trout (stocked), walleye.
