Burnsville Lake Wildlife Management Area is a 13,258 acre Wildlife Management Area in Braxton County. The property is owned by U.S. Army Corps of Engineers and managed by WV Division of Natural Resources, Wildlife Resources Section. The terrain of the area: Hilly and steep, some gently sloping upland areas and fairly flat creek bottoms with a mixture of young timber, brush and old fields. Hunting, Trapping, and Fishing: A 500-foot safety zone exists around all buildings, picnic areas, campgrounds, and playgrounds in which it is illegal to shoot a firearm. Hunting Opportunities: Deer, Turkey, Squirrel, & Grouse Trapping Opportunities: N/A Fishing Opportunities: Burnsville Lake. There you can fish for largemouth, smallmouth and spotted bass, bluegill, channel and flathead catfish, crappie, muskellunge, trout stocked tailwaters, walleye.
