Sleepy Creek Wildlife Management Area is a 22,612 acre Wildlife Management Area in the counties of Berkeley and Morgan. The property is owned by WVDNR and managed by WV Division of Natural Resources, Wildlife Resources Section. The terrain of the area: Oak-hickory forest covers 3,500 acres while Virginia pine-oak forest blankets most of the area. Hunting, Trapping, and Fishing: A 500-foot safety zone exists around all buildings, picnic areas, campgrounds, and playgrounds in which it is illegal to shoot a firearm. Hunting Opportunities: Deer, Turkey, Bear, Squirrel, Grouse Trapping Opportunities: Bobcat, Coyote, Red Fox, Beaver, Mink, Muskrat, Opossum, Fox Fishing Opportunities: Sleepy Creek Lake. There you can fish for largemouth bass, bluegill, crappie, northern pike.
