Description:
This map shows hiking trails within the Middle Fork Snoqualmie Natural Resources Conservation Area. Managed by the Washington State Department of Natural Resources (DNR), the Middle Fork Snoqualmie conservation area includes hiking opportunities at Mailbox Peak and Granite Creek as well as picnic opportunities at Champion Beach and Russian Butte View day use areas. Led by the Commissioner of Public Lands Hilary Franz, DNR manages 1,100 miles of trails and 160-plus recreation sites in working forests and conservation areas statewide. Many recreation areas are located on state trust lands, which the agency manages to generate revenue for statewide public services, including public school construction, universities and emergency services. In addition to providing access for recreation, these lands also help protect against development, support clean air and water and maintain the highest environmental standards available.
