The 730-acre Campbell Tract in the heart of Anchorage is managed by the Bureau of Land Management. It offers non-motorized access to 12 miles of trails year round. More than 120,000 people visits and about 40,000 dog visits are logged on these trails annually, so please be courteous on the trails. Keep right, except to pass, use safe speeds, use your voice or bell when passing, and yield to other trail users. In winter, some trails are open only to dog mushing. Dog teams are fast, quiet, and hard to slow down so please look and listen carefully near mushing trail intersections. The Campbell Tract is home to a variety of wildlife. For your safety, make noise to avoid encountering bears and give moose a wide berth.
