Hamburg and Altona City Map, 1912

Carly's Großer Plan von Hamburg, Altona-Ottensen, Wandsbeck nebst Vororten und Umgebung. Verlag Oscar Enoch, Hamburg, [1912]. This pretty detailed map of Hamburg, Altona and neighboring towns and townships had been published definitely after 1910 but before breakout of the Great European war in 1914 - according to the adverts in the original publication used as source for this scan. The map displays street network, city blocks structure (partially generalized), public buildings, administrative subdivision and tramway lines with route numbers as well as some planned lines. Places of interest are given with artistic images. A part of the historical map collection of Discus Media Group. Digitally restored. The original map contains scale distortions and rough generalization at the south and north edges, so the very southern and very northern grid lines contain visible georeferencing and geometrical deviations. All other map segments have good geometry and can be well used for historic navigation along Hamburg. Looking for a valuable and original gift?
