After a 3-mile hike along the beautiful South Fork Walla Walla River, you enter the Umatilla National Forest, and trails continue from there. The Trailhead provides a great place to relax and picnic alongside the river. This area is very special and was designated an Area of Critical Environmental Concern (ACEC) in 1994. In order to prevent deterioration of the areas many resource values, the 1,955 acre ACEC is closed to overnight camping.
