Niagara Falls and the nearby Welland Canals offer unique riding opportunities for bicyclists. Bike trails on the Canadian and US sides follow the Niagara River from Buffalo and Fort Erie above the falls to the shore of Lake Ontario. Further west, another bike trail follows the Welland Canals, offering close up looks at the giant freighters that pass between Lake Ontario and Lake Erie. This map shows bike trails and bike routes through the area and includes a route from Amtrak or the Buffalo Niagara International Airport to the Niagara River. A spur route to the south leads to the Appalachian Mountain Tour and a spur route to the west follows the north shore of Lake Erie. Both routes will be added soon.
