Mt Myojin sits on the outer caldera of Hakone volcano, a popular tourist attraction, two hours south-west of Tokyo. It offers relaxed hiking, as well as fantastic views, thanks to the gentle slopes of its treeless summit ridge. Frequent trains and buses make it convenient for a day-trip. Finally, since Hakone is also a famous onsen town, it’s possible to finish at a hot spring.
