The Doagy Fire burned in New Mexixo on the Gila National Forest on the Black Range Ranger District. The Doagy Fire was ignited by lightning and reported on May 14, 2021. The fire burned 12,785 acres near Doagy Well in Doagy Canyon of the Gila National Forest. Vegetation type is primarily open Ponderosa pine with a reported mosaic burn pattern from low-intensity surface burning to torching of small groups of trees. Likely low likelihood for burn morels in this area, unless the area gets above average spring rains.
