Norwich Stone Quarry
Description:
Norwich New York Stone Quarry on West Hill. From Parking lot on Upper Ravine Road to the Main Quarry. Nice overlook near the Quarry on to the City of Norwich. Hike out and back is about 5 miles. The area has numerous trails. This trail mostly follows the ridge line. Along the way there are several what looks like test quarry locations. The parking lot is on a seasonally maintained road. Traveling up the Upper Ravine road you'll pass the Chenango County Sheriffs building as well as the Valley Ridge CIT. The Road is marked as seasonal after reaching these facilities If road is closed one may be able to Park at the Chenango County Sherrif's building and walk about 0.2 miles to the Parking lot. This map shows walking from the Parking lot. The trail also comes out to the road before reaching the parking from the Chenango County Sherrif's building area.
