Difficulty 2.5 (easy to moderately challenging) Time 55 mins | Dist 2.1 km | Climb 108 m No dogs allowed. Explore the forested slopes of Lane Cove National Park. Wildflowers are abundant in late winter and spring, and huge Sydney red gum (Angophora costata), Sydney peppermint (Eucalyptus piperita), and blackbutt (Eucalyptus pilularis) will always accompany you. Native birds are everywhere, and quiet walkers have often encountered echidnas along the way. If you listen, you may even detect a surprised swamp wallaby dashing for cover. Most of the walk follows vehicular trails and is relatively easy, however one section uses an unmanaged track and is steep and rough. Perfect for adults, teens and older children (7+ years) with a moderate level of fitness and bushwalking experience, this walk is not recommended for younger children or those with mobility challenges.
