Description:
The Swan Preserve is a 90 acre parcel generously donated to the land trust by the Swan family. The preserve initially included three trails identified as the yellow, red and blue trails. In 2020, one of the land trust board members Ted Cowles, who was very active in the land trust particularly related to stewardship activities and organization of trail crew events, including the construction of a bridge over the small brook running through this property, passed away due to Covid complications. CLCT decided to create a new trail in his memory, and the white blazed trail is named the Ted Cowles trail. The address of the property is 25 Case St. but entering that address in a map application is unlikely to bring you to the parking lot and trailhead. In Google, search for Swan Preserve trailhead. Alternatively, navigate to 19 Case St., and the entrance to the parking lot will be the next driveway. For more information on the land trust see their website at: https://cantonlandtrust.org/
