Description:
The Bunker Hill Preserve consists of 55 acres of property owned by the Canton Land Conservation Trust (CLCT). The overall preserve was acquired as three separate transactions. The first was a purchase in 2006 of property often referred to as Sweeton pasture. The purchase was partially funded by a DEEP grant. In 2018, the Goodwin family generously donated 4 acres which helped to expand the property. In 2020, CLCT purchased an additional 12 acres with help via a DEEP grant. That parcel abuts Cherry Brook. The preserve is located at 77 Bunker Hill Rd. In Google maps search for Bunker Hill Preserve parking (CLCT). The current parking is not a formal parking lot but just a pull off next to the signs. CLCT was organized as a nonprofit in 1972, and provides stewardship for a number of properties primarily in Canton, several of which have hiking trails.
