Yacolt Burn State Forest - Motorized Trails

Description:

This map shows recreation trails authorized for motorized use in the Yacolt Burn State Forest near Camas. Jones Creek ORV Trailhead is the premiere ORV trail in Southwest Washington. It has 14 miles of double-track motorcycle and all-terrain vehicle trails. Hagen Creek Trail System opened in May 2015 as the first official 4x4 trail system in the Yacolt Burn State Forest providing a roughly 6-mile loop trail system which provides opportunities for primarily 4x4, ATV driving, and features a rock crawl. Managed by the Washington State Department of Natural Resources (DNR), Yacolt Burn State Forest is a timber-generating working forest that provides opportunities for camping, hiking, mountain biking, horseback riding, motorcycle, ATV and 4x4 riding. Led by the Commissioner of Public Lands Hilary Franz, DNR manages 1,100 miles of trails and 160-plus recreation sites in working forests and conservation areas statewide. Many recreation areas are located on state trust lands, which the agency manages to generate revenue for statewide public services, including public school construction, universities and emergency services. In addition to providing access for recreation, these lands also help protect against development, support clean air and water and maintain the highest environmental standards available. To learn more about recreation on DNR-managed lands, visit dnr.wa.gov/go. When you visit Yacolt Burn State Forest, don't forget your Discover Pass—your way to enjoy Washington's great outdoors. Learn more at discoverpass.wa.gov. Keep in mind that recreation sites and trails in DNR's working forests may experience temporary closures to enhance public safety during timber harvest activities. Check forest information before you go at dnr.wa.gov. Motorized trails are closed seasonally from December 1 - April 30. Don't forget you must: Have an approved spark arrester, have current tabs and stickers, wear a DOT-approved helmet, ride on trails designed for your off-road vehicle, and do not ride after dark.
