Camp: On the 4680 road just east of the Cascade Lakes Hwy (large gravel lot). Walt Haring Sno-Park in Chemult. Camping is also allowed at dispersed sites in the forest. Day Use Parking: 4 miles east of Hwy 97 in Crescent on Forest Road 9768 , just past the railroad tracks. Junction Sno-Park in Crescent Junction or on the 4680 road just east of Cascade Lakes Hwy. Burgess Road out of LaPine near Pringle Butte (Map #1). Room for 3 rigs. This is a great starting point if you want to go to Manley’s for their famous Broasted Chicken with a couple friends. Eat: Manley’s Tavern in Crescent Junction (Adults Only), Mohawk Restaurant and Big Foot Tavern in Crescent and the Wheel Café in Chemult. Fuel: Crescent, Crescent Junction, Chemult. The MVUMs display National Forest System (NFS), routes (roads and trails), designated as open to motorized travel. The MVUMs also display allowed uses by motor vehicle class (ex. highway-legal vehicles, vehicles 50 inches in width or less, motor cycles and open to all vehicles; seasonal allowances, off travel distance allowances, and provides information on other travel rules and regulations. Visitors should not rely on any other maps for making decisions about motorized travel. A current printed copy of the Forest MVUM is available FREE from local Forest Service offices, and the current downloadable copy is available FREE from www.fs.fed.us/recreation/programs/ohv/ohv_maps.shtml Please contact the local land manager, Forest Service, BLM or State Forests for more information about motor vehicle use on the lands they manage. If you are on a forest road and you come to come to a closed gate that is not locked and does not display a NO TRESPASSING or PRIVATE PROPERTY sign you can pass through but please close the gate behind you.
