This map was created entirely by volunteers with Friends of DuPont Forest (FODF). ** New and improved FODF created map of DuPont State Recreational Forest includes: • Trails labeled with trail name • Trails symbolized to indicate single track, double track, forest road and gravel road. • Improved symbols for water crossings • Horse tie out locations • Parking lot information for trailer parking DuPont State Recreational Forest contains 10,400 acres in the Blue Ridge Mountains of Western North Carolina. The forest has over 80 miles of roads and trails that are shared by hikers, mountain bikers and equestrians. Little River runs through the forest, with four major waterfalls along its course. Grassy Creek also has several waterfalls. The forest also contains five lakes. Habitats within the forest include Upland oak forests, cove forests, granite domes, riparian areas, mountain bogs, small wildlife openings, lakes, streams and the Little River.
